If there's one thing we've learned in our years serving clients in Baltimore, it's that today's drivers are looking for more in their next vehicles than just solid tires and shiny paint. These shoppers are keen on staying connected, and fortunately our Volkswagen vehicles are here to offer an incomparable solution.
Volkswagen of America, Inc., recently announced the advent of the MIB II infotainment system with the launch of a new advertising campaign that highlights its smartphone integration technology known as App-Connect. A major component of the Car-Net® suite, App-Connect enables hassle-free integration with compatible smartphone apps through three available interfaces: Google Android AutoTM, Apple CarPlay® and MirrorLink®. Volkswagen is the first automaker to offer such functionality, which will launch first on the 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan and 2016 Volkswagen Golf R models and be rolled out to other 2016 model year vehicles over time.
The campaign launched with two 30-second TV spots. "Party" and "Sorry," featuring Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Michael Peña and Adam Scott, follow the celebrities as they test out the integration system with a couple of voice commands, steering wheel controls and touchscreen selections. With digital and social media elements, the ad campaign demonstrates the brand's outstanding smartphone integration technology offerings while tapping into the social media behavior today's consumers demonstrate and crave.
Once fully rolled out, the MIB II system will be available on 11 Volkswagen cars. Maryland drivers are invited to visit our Baltimore dealership to learn more and even see a trial. Get ready for a new perspective on in-car convenience and connectivity through the App-Connect system, and don't even consider taking your eyes off the road. With MIB II, there's simply no need!
