NHTSA NCAP evaluations rate vehicles according to front, side, and rollover crash tests. Ultimately, the NHTSA has the same purpose as our staff at Russel Volkswagen -- assurance of your safety and guidance in helping you pick the perfect vehicle. With the newly awarded ratings, the Golf family of vehicles joins the ranks of the 2016 Volkswagen Jetta, 2016 Volkswagen Passat and 2016 Volkswagen Beetle coupe.
Additionally, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has named four Volkswagen models TOP SAFETY PICK+ vehicles. The 2016 Volkswagen Jetta, 2016 Volkswagen Passat, 2016 Volkswagen Golf 4-door, and 2016 Volkswagen Golf GTI 4-door earned the award by receiving ratings of "Good" in the small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, head restraint, and roof strength evaluations on top of receiving an "Advanced" or "Superior" rating in the front crash prevention system performance evaluation.
