Heritage Volkswagen Catonsville has the distinct pleasure of serving customers with a range of personalized driving needs. Fortunately, we also have the opportunity to represent an automaker that is dedicated to finding ways to improve the lives of people everywhere as much as possible through the vehicles they buckle into every day.

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc., recently donated a specially modified 2015 Volkswagen Passat featuring a custom wrap courtesy of GEICO. The vehicle was presented to MedStar National Rehabilitation Network (MedStar NRH) in an effort to support ongoing patient independence activities.

The stationary vehicle was built and donated to assist patients recovering from a range of disabling injuries and illnesses, including brain injury, stroke, orthopaedic and spinal cord injuries, as they transfer in and out of the vehicle. MedStar NRH Driver's Education Program also relies on the vehicle to play a pivotal role in its evaluation process as patients begin to reclaim their independence, and for many patients that includes obtaining a driver's license and the ability to travel. MedStar NRH occupational therapists help them accomplish that goal.

Since installation this fall, patients have been able to use the vehicle to improve upon their motor functions as they continue the recovery process. The Volkswagen video production team has been capturing the installation and presentation process for a video to be shared on the automaker's media site at a later date. Stay tuned to see the rehabilitation efforts in progress.

Whether you are in love with every standard feature available on the 2016 Volkswagen Jetta or you and your passengers need specific modifications to your 2016 Volkswagen Passat, drivers in Baltimore are encouraged to share their needs, requests and concerns with our knowledgeable sales staff to find the vehicle that is perfect for you.
