At Heritage Volkswagen Catonsville, our 2015 model year vehicles are known for their one-of-a-kind appearance, but there's something far more important that we want our customers to recognize and look for in these vehicles, and that's safety. Fortunately we have good news there.

The following vehicles earned 2015 TOP SAFETY PICK+ ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) when equipped with the optional Autonomous Emergency Braking (Front Assist) and Forward Collision Warning systems.

·         2016 Volkswagen Golf 4-door

·         2016 Volkswagen Golf GTI 4-door

·         2016 Golf SportWagen

·        2016 Volkswagen Jetta

Each of these 2015 TOP SAFETY PICK+ vehicles bring together active and passive safety systems, including a standard Automatic Post-Collision Braking system, that collaborate to meet or exceed existing crash regulations. Additional optional driver assistance systems include:

·         An active Lane Departure Warning system

·         Forward Collision Warning

·         Adaptive Cruise Control

·         Autonomous Emergency Braking

·         Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert

Vehicles that are awarded IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ designation have earned ratings of "Good" in the moderate overlap front, side, head restraint and roof strength tests and no lower than an "Acceptable" rating in the small overlap front test, all of which qualify them for TOP SAFETY PICK status. What gives these vehicles a "plus" is a rating of "Advanced" or "Superior" following evaluation of their front crash prevention system's performance.

The safety of our customers is our highest priority here at Russel Volkswagen, and we are excited to see the IIHS recognize four 2016 model year Volkswagen vehicles for their ability to go above and beyond in protecting drivers and passengers. Contact a Baltimore Volkswagen dealership to test drive one of these four IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ vehicles and buckle into safety.
